WHAT a player
While we're all discussing Ronaldo...

James Hobbs: Playing well is no reason to progress, I'm afraid. Whilst I can applaud Morocco's play, if you don't create chances or convert the ones you have, you lose. Portugal weren't at their best but did enough. They'll have to improve again in round of 16 though.
Five in a row...
Portugal 1-0 Morocco
Portugal talisman Cristiano Ronaldo is the first player to score five consecutive World Cup goals for his team since Oleg Salenko for Russia in 1994.
They all came in the one game of course...
Post update
Russia could definitely beat Portugal if it came down to it.

Excellent use of 'just' here...
'Russia have momentum'
Portugal 1-0 Morocco
Matthew Upson
Former Arsenal defender on BBC One
Russia have got momentum. They are scoring some excellent goals at the moment and they are the host nation. I think you would probably just prefer not to play Uruguay next but it is a lot closer than it was at the start of the tournament.
Post update
Cristiano Ronaldo's four goals so far are the most he has scored in a major tournament too.
'Serious concerns over Portugal'
Portugal 1-0 Morocco
Kevin Kilbane
Former Republic of Ireland winger in Russia
I'd have serious worries about Portugal anyway because they allow teams to come onto them.
Defensively Nordin Amrabat gave him so much trouble, he had too much for Raphael Guerreiro today. He knew where to stand to unsettle him.
If someone does you for pace early or physically, you have to work it out and learn quickly.

David Barron: Portugal have won this but Morocco were the better team and were unlucky against a ten man defence. I cannot see Portugal going beyond the second round.
Sharifa: What a game. Yes Portugal won but Morocco played with heart and passion all the way through despite Ronaldo scoring early in the game. Both sides did well - that’s what you call a game.
Gareth George: That's the best I've seen a team play and come away with nothing in this World Cup. Unlucky Morocco.

Dejected
Portugal 1-0 Morocco
The first team to crash out of the World Cup after two 1-0 defeats with two goals conceded from set-pieces.
'You can forgive one...'
Portugal 1-0 Morocco
Matthew Upson
Former Arsenal defender on BBC One
After his first chance, which was a practice run, Medhi Benatia has to do better with his second effort. He has to hit the target. You can forgive maybe one of those misses.
Ronaldo's four so far
A pen, a howler, a free-kick and a free header...
How many will he need?
Portugal 1-0 Morocco
Five goals has been enough to win the golden boot in recent years, so a further goal or two for Cristiano Ronaldo would set him well on the way.
He is now on four.
