Alexis Mac Allister’s partner Ailen Cova has announced she is pregnant with their first child. Mac Allister has been a crucial part of Arne Slot’s team this season. Building on his impressive debut season in the last campaign, Mac Allister has helped Liverpool climb to the top of the Premier League table with a string of consistent performances.

Mac Allister is currently with the Argentinian national team in the season’s final international break before the Copa America tournament. Away from the pitch, the midfielder is in a relationship with Ailen Cova. They have been in a relationship since late 2022 after Mac Allister won the World Cup.

Ailen regularly shares updates on her personal life to her 139,000 followers on Instagram. Last night, Ailen posted a video on her page announcing she was pregnant with the couple’s first child.

Ailen was in floods of tears after Mac Allister showed her the positive pregnancy scan before giving him a hug. There was then footage of her baby scan followed by a compilation of the pair giving the news to their friends and family members around the world.

This included Mac Allister’s brother Kevin, a professional footballer who played against Liverpool last season for Belgian side Union SG. The final shot of the video showed Ailen holding up a sign on her phone which said: “It’s a girl.”

In the caption of the post, Ailen said: “We wish and love you with all our heart. See you soon little one.” In the comments, Mac Allister added: “I love you with all my heart.” Partners of other Liverpool players added their well wishes. Lucia Bramani, wife of Fedricho Chiesa, said: “I’m so happy for you! Can’t wait.”

Saffie Khan, Curtis Jones’s partner, said: "Congratulations." Borka Buzsik, who is the fiancée of Dominik Szoboszlai, added six red love heart emojis. Ailen is regularly spotted at Liverpool games both home and away. Back in January at the reds’ victory over Ipswich, 10 of Mac Allister’s family members from Argentina came over to watch the game with Ailen.

Before the game, they posted a picture together holding up Argentinian flags, one of which had the Liverpool badge on it along with the words 'You’ll Never Walk Alone'. Ailen also posted a video of her cheering on Mac Allister from the stands.

After the match had finished, Mac Allister showed his appreciation by bringing them onto the famous Anfield pitch. The footballer posted a picture of them all together on his Instagram story and added “familia” as the caption, along with a red love heart.

Mac Allister provided an update on his Irish roots last year as he revealed some distant Irish relatives had been in touch. He said on Gary Lineker’s The Rest Is Football podcast: “Yeah, (my name) is Irish. I don't know why many people think it's Scottish. It's actually Irish. A couple of months or weeks ago I received a letter from my family in Ireland.

“(They were) asking me to go there one day. I would love to. It feels weird because I'm 25 and it just came out now. But hopefully one day I can go and meet all of my family.”
