Earthquake Near Taiwan, No Tsunami Alert For Japan

Social media users posted videos of shaking in the area. According to the US agency, the quake occured in the Philippine Sea near the coast of Taiwan at a depth of 33 km.
Reports earier said that an earthquake of magnitude 5.8 struck Saturday near Hualien City, Taiwan, as reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a shallow depth of 20 km. A second report was later issued by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), which listed it as a magnitude 5.6 earthquake.
Several users on X, platform formerly known as Twitter, posted about the earthquakes on Saturday.
"I felt the floor shaking, didn't realise it was an earthquake. I was stunned for a sec. until I saw the alert on my phone 🥲 I hope Chanyeol is sleeping soundly right now. To those who are in Taipei now, stay safe guys and let's enjoy tomorrow's fancon!" one person said along with a screenshot of a mobile alert.
"God bless Taiwan! 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck just off Taiwan's eastern county of Hualien on Saturday morning, the island's weather administration said, with no immediate reports of damage. The quake shook buildings in the capital, Taipei. The quake had a depth of 24.9 km (15.5 miles)," a second one added.
No injuries or damage have been reported yet. No tesunami warning alert has been issued.
