Bob Ferguson slams Reichert after Washington GOP convention debacle

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Democratic candidate for governor Bob Ferguson took the opportunity to criticize Republican candidate Dave Reichert on Wednesday after Reichert failed to secure the endorsement of the Washington GOP.

Ferguson posted an image to social media containing several criticisms of Reichert by Republicans around the Evergreen State.

“Dave Reichert: too weak to face his own party. He knew he was going to lose, he knew that he would get booed, so he bailed out of the Republican convention,” Ferguson said.

Semi Bird ultimately clinched the Washington GOP’s endorsement during the raucous state party convention last Saturday.

Ferguson has continued to treat Reichert as the Republican frontrunner on his social media accounts by repeatedly leveling criticisms at the former congressman rather than Bird.

Reichert has focused on touting county level party endorsements and promoting his own record in law enforcement amidst Republican in-fighting.

As the governor’s race continues, it is unclear whether Ferguson will continue to focus on Reichert or whether he will pivot to Bird.
