W X II 12 news at eight on the triad. CW starts now an overnight shooting in Winston. Salem leaves one person dead and three others in the hospital. How it may be connected to a homicide that happened just hours earlier. You messed up, you got back system and now it's time for you to get up, get out of the house this summer. But a setback on the seas as most people look to make up for lost vacation time, Covid pops up in a cruise lines first set of passengers. The concerns as we head into the summer season, The G-7 summit moves into day two. I'm Matt Pritchard in Washington with what's on the schedule for the global leader 801 on your saturday morning. Thank you so much for joining us here on the try at C. W. I'm Jackie passable here with Jacqueline share and we're trying to get, I'm trying to change my mindset I guess because the last week it's just been so rough and every day I've been like another impact day, another impact day. But today we're on the mend. It seems like it was five days in a row of impact days, which I think is the longest stretch of impact days since I got here at the very least, definitely since you've been here. It doesn't happen often. But you know, at this time of year we have those typical showers and thunderstorms when it's hot and humid and we had a lot of hot and humid days, got a lot of downpours, some spots picked up over seven inches of rain this week thankfully as we're looking outside at live radar, we're seeing some drier skies if you like, sprinkles throughout the triad. And I'm watching the mountains right now where we're expecting most of our rain today. Better off. Just got a strike of lightning there. So thunderstorms popping up in that area headed towards Boone and blowing rock doesn't look particularly strong or severe even a little bit, but we'll be watching this as it continues to put down a lot of rain. We're in the red here indicating heavy rainfall in the center of that storm. So just know that that's headed your way. If you wanted to head out for that morning run or walk the foothills in the triad should be fine. But the mountains already getting some storms out there, taking a look at temperatures right now, 70 degrees in Burlington, 71 in Winston Salem and in Asheboro we've got upper sixties elsewhere, including part of the Piedmont, Greensboro. Starting off in the upper sixties. The past few days, we started off in the middle of seventies, so that's at least some relief. There were still some high dew points today and over the next few hours you could get a few quick showers in the triad, but by the time we get into the afternoon up to a 40% chance for showers and storms that continues through the afternoon, we start to get back to that 20% shower range by the evening. The foothills though, are in an impact day because of high range chances, up to a 70% chance for showers and storms. By the time we get to the afternoon and in the mountains, we're looking at a 70% chance at three p.m. By four were up to an 80% chance. It's an impact day because of those high rain chances and also high rain totals. We'll take a closer look coming up, Jacqueline, thank you for just into our newsroom, a fatal crash in Winston Salem.
