With the debut of the new features, SUREedge DR 5.0 significantly broadens the scope of supported DR platforms to include Xen hypervisors and expands the capabilities on the Azure platform. The most recent incarnation of Microsoft Azure is an expanded collection of integrated cloud services—analytics, computing, database, mobile, networking, storage, and web—for moving faster, achieving more, and saving money. Sureline’s SUREedge-Migrator and SUREedge-DR allows Azure customers to rapidly migrate any workload from physical or virtual systems into Azure, or use Azure as a DR site, while still providing support for other leading Cloud solutions including AWS, Google Cloud and CenturyLink.

5.0 also adds full protection for multiple client operating systems, such as RHEL 5.4/5.11 and Windows 2K3, and extends GRUB menu support for all Linux platforms. 5.0 also introduces application support for protecting Exchange mailboxes in Office 365 providing extended retention and protection capabilities with full governance and regulatory compliance.

Included among the significant new features are:
• Proxy-based recovery for Linux on VMware to speed recovery and enable a wider set of supported transformations Xen VM support for backup and restore enabling DR and migration to and from platforms based on the Xen hypervisor technologies
• Proxy-based recovery via the Azure Resource Manager (ARM) interfaces to speed recovery and expand the transformation toolkit for recovery in the Azure platform
• GRUB menu support for recovered Linux VNs on all platforms, providing wider automated support for recovering client systems that utilize the GRUB boot manager
• A new recovery workflow and UI enhancements which ease the process of executing DR plans and performing failovers and recoveries
